Dr. John M. Hackenberger: Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

Dr. Hackenberger is a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who has been caring for patients in private practice since 1993.  He is a native of Southeastern Michigan and enjoys providing individualized care to Metro Detroiters.  Rehabilitation of the oral cavity with dental implants is a primary interest for Dr. Hackenberger. He enjoys working together with your dentist to take a "team approach" to your treatment. 

He continually attends educational courses to remain current with the most modern techniques and methods in all forms of diagnosis and treatment.  Dr. Hackenberger is actively involved in the education of other clinicians and speaks locally and nationally on dental implants and other topics.  

Dr. Hackenberger is a moderator of the Head and Neck Tumor Board at St. John-Macomb Hospital.  He provides surgical tumor management of both benign and malignant tumors often in conjunction with other medical specialties.  Facial reconstruction using modern techniques is often a part of tumor management. 

Educated at the University of Michigan, he received his dental degree in 1989.  He completed his four-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in St. Louis, Missouri in 1993.  His other certifications include Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.  He is also an attending surgeon helping to educate the oral and maxillofacial surgical residents in the St. John Health System.

Dr. Hackenberger enjoys caring for patients who require Facial and Oral Reconstruction, Facial Rejuvenation and Trauma Management.

Dr. Hackenberger became certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1995 and he is an Associate of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
