Q: How long does the gauze have to stay in?
A: Change the Gauze every 30 to 40 minutes. The gauze will never come out completely white. Normally after you change the gauze 2 times that should be good.
Q: When should I start eating normally again?
A: It is important after surgery to maintain good nutrition and hydration. Directly after surgery it is recommended to eat a healthy diet of softer texture foods and to drink sufficient water. In the following 2-3 days it is typical to slowly advance your diet back to a normal menu with some care given to avoid the operated area(s) as much as possible.
Q: When can I go back to work?
A: Returning to work or school is often possible in 1 -3 days. If you have a dangerous work environment please ask your surgeon when would be best to return to such duties.

A: Post-operative pain management is achieved through prescription and non-prescription remedies. These may include narcotic and non-narcotic prescriptions selected according to the procedures involved.
