Jeffrey Knorr, DDS, MSBA

Dr. Knorr completed his dental degree at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1981. He completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Georgetown University Hospital in 1984.  Following successful completion of the State of Michigan Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Specialty Licensing examination, he and his wife returned home to start a family and to enter private practice. He was certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in 1987.  He returned to Madonna University in 1994 and attained an MSBA in the Medical and Dental Fellows MSBA program. He maintains hospital staff privileges at  St. John Macomb Hospital, in Warren, MI. 

From 1985 to 2014,  Dr. Knorr practiced  full scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in a multi-office practice across Macomb County.   In September of 2014,  he assumed a solo practice in New Baltimore, MI (Anchor Bay Oral Surgery PC) and is excited to return to a multi-office practice with a merger of his practice with Summit Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery PC in June 2022.

Over the years, Dr. Knorr’s activities include: teaching and training Oral and Maxillofacial Residents at St. John Macomb Hospital, lecturing and clinical instruction at University of Detroit School of Dentistry, serving on the State of Michigan Specialty Licensing Examination Board, serving on Macomb Dental Society Ethics and Peer Review, and co-authoring a chapter in a nationally acclaimed Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery textbook.  He is active today as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Consultant for Blue Cross, Blue Shield of Michigan – Medical Surgical division.  Since 2016, Dr. Knorr has been expanding his knowledge of guided dental implant procedures with use of multiple CAD-CAM design programs and the addition of in-office 3D printing and looks forward to bringing his expertise to the Summit family.

His outside interests include resurrection and restoration of vintage guitars and mandolins, building custom acoustic guitars, general woodworking and refinishing furniture.  He is enjoying his time being “Pop” to his two granddaughters.
